DAAD Serial Summer School Integrated Water Resources Management

The IWRM Summer School will be held during 10 - 23 September 2012 in Dessau and Berlin, Germany.

Accomodation at the Youth Hostel Dessau-Roßlau:

Check-in at the Hostel is available from 3pm, the reception is staffed from 8am til 10pm. If you are arriving earlier or later, contact the Youth Hostel.
Please arrive at Sunday, 9th. September. The programme starts at monday morning.

Getting to Germany and Dessau:

The best airport to fly to the Summer School is Berlin Tegel (TXL). It will take ca. 2-3 hours to travel by railway from Berlin to Dessau.
You can also fly to Germany via Frankfurt Airport (FRA), but it will take ca 5 hours to get from there to Dessau via railway.
You can reach Dessau via railway, using the Deutsche Bahn. Plan your trip online, using the DB Bahn TravelService. The destination is Dessau Hauptbahnhof, the start is either Flughafen Tegel (Airport), Berlin or Frankfurt(M) Flughafen.

Directions and Arrival in Dessau:

After arriving at the Dessau Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) you can take either a bus (line 10 or 11) or walk by foot: 

•  Take bus line 10 from the Central Station to the stop "Ebertallee"
•  from the stop "Ebertallee" follow the street in the bus’ main direction of travel for 200m/220yards
   
• Take bus line 11 from the Central Station to the stop "Ebertallee"
• from the stop "Ebertallee" turn left into the "Ebertallee" and continue for 200m/220yards.   

by foot from the Central Station ca. 2.5 km/1.5 miles (30 min)

• exit the station on the left-hand side going in the direction of "Bitterfelder Straße"
• from there, turn left on the "Antoinettenstraße," direction of the bridge
• continue on the street for about 800m/880yards.
• at the forking intersection, turn onto the right fork in the direction of "Meisterhäuser" (Ebertallee)
• the hostel is located on the left-hand side (follow signs)

Bring your own Laptop to the event!

The lump sums will be paid after the Summer School. If the travel costs (flight and train charges, visa fees, etc.) exceed the individual lump sum, the balance must be paid by the participant.
All other costs in Germany (accommodation, GIS courses, bus transfer from Dessau to Berlin) and all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will be paid by us.
